I'm getting really fed up of the Hatchery level. Can someone who has completed this level please give me some advice. As far as I can make out, when the 2 switches on either side of the shark area start glowing, you are supposed to sonar at them twice. _Sometimes_ (I don't know why this doesn't happen other times...), there is a low grumbling sound, then if I chase towards the central arm, the shield momentarily disappears. On the few occasions I have managed to charge into the central arm base before the shield returns, the arm then seems to make an electrical grating noise as it turns. What I can't seem to work out is a) how to ensure I disable the arm shield when I sonar at the (glowing) side switches? b) how to return to the arm base in time to actually strike it before the shield returns (literally less than a second...) c) is there any need to use the power of sonar located down the opening tunnel? d) what the hell to do on this level?????? Please someone provide some advice/tactics for this level. I thought Hanging Waters was difficult, but that was just technical control - this seems far more random.... Thanks... | ||

You need to charge into the arm 3 times to destroy it, they you can enter the tube the eggs come out of and exit the level. |

The Machine does three things. 1) It gets new eggs from the tube. 2) It gets fish to feed the eggs. 3) It deposes of the eggshells once the creatures have hatched. There are two switches on either side of the walls near the tube where the eggs come from. One of the switches opens the Garbage tube (Where the Glyph is). The other deactivates the force field around the fish. When the machine deactivates the shield holding the fish you must sonar the switch that again (the one to the left of the egg tube). Which ACTIVATES the shield. If you are quick enough the arm of the machine will be caught in the forcefield and the machine temporarly vunerable to be destroyed. You must repeat this three times. The power of Sonar is only good for destoying the sharks mutants near the switches. Air can be gained from the fish area as can food. |

Also, once you see the switch deactivate, just sonar it once. It will take a second for the shield to come back on and trap the arm so start swimming straight away and you'll have plenty of time to charge over and hit the machine. |
