At the end of Tides of Time, there is some strange text that scrolls up after the scene with the space fireworks. Anybody know what it actually means? Is it just a bunch of jibberish? | ||

I presume you are playing the game using an emulator, for some reason no emulator I know of displays that text properly. The text is the epiloge that explains the ending of the game... |

On my Tides of Time ROM all text is in English except the prologue, epilogue and the text "Try playing the game without the cheat mode", which are in Japanese. Unfortunately, the prologue / epilogue text is not displayed correctly in the emulator so you end up with black text on almost black background. It seems that Ecco is spelled Ekô in Japanese ^_^ X-Crispy: I've got the Megadrive version, if you want I can write down the epilogue for you. |

hmm i forget..what happnes if you beat tides of time honestly with no cheating? -eao who needs tides of time for the gg rom/emu |

It says something to the tune of "The Vortex Queen is sent back into the past, she encounters creatures she cannot rule.... la la la.... Ecco finds the time machene... la la la... he uses it..." I don't remember, I haven't played the game in SO long! Awwww... I'm gonna play it soon then, my Sega isn't hooked up, though. Errrrrrr! |

eao: the epilogue is the same weather you cheat or not, the only difference is that when you play honestly you get the secret password. X-Crispy: Ok, here it is, and the prologue too. Prologue Ecco has returned to Earth safely with his pod. Songs of praise echo throughout the ocean -- Ecco is a hero: he saved the Earth, and he destroyed the evil vortex, or so he thought... The Vortex Queen detaches from the hive and falls into the tube behind the pod of escaping dolphins. She is puzzled by what has just happened: a small dolphin has managed to attack the hive and battle its way to her chamber. The dolphin attacked her during her feed state -- she was weak and very surprised. He beat her. Now she must follow the pod to the Earth to start a new hive. --- Epilogue The Queen retreats within her machine. When Ecco leaves she escapes in the form of a vortex larva. The Queen makes her way to the sunken city of Atlantis. She finds the time machine and escapes into Earth's past. When the Queen arrives in the prehistoric era, she encounters creatures that she cannot rule. She has no choice but to live within the life cycles of the Earth. And, through the eons, the vortexkind integrate with the life on Earth. Ecco finds the time machine in the City of Forever. Instead of destroying it, he uses it and disappears into the tides of time. |
