Ecco the Dolphin
Ecco the Dolphin : Tides of Time(Mega Drive)
Ecco the Dolphin

Title Screen Players : One
Levels : 34
Developers : Novotrade (now called Appaloosa Interactive)

The second ecco game released on the Mega Drive/Genesis and a huge improvement from the Developers over the original. The graphics look very realistic with a great new look for ecco that makes the ecco from the first game look like a cardboard cutout in comparison. The rest of the graphics look breathtaking as well with ecco visiting many great looking places and times. The storyline is awesome, you will be pulled in after a few levels wondering what is happening (a word of warning, some fans (myself included) find the game's ending which was supposed to join up with a 3rd Mega Drive/Genesis game that was never made to be a bit disapointing though, but it's still good so don't be too put off though)

The sound is awesome in the ecco game tradition, there are many varied tunes that build the atmosphere of the levels, my favourite ecco music comes from this game. The game play is still the perfect control from the first game and again there are a few frustrating puzzles but nothing too bad, but added to the mix are cool new items such as the ability to morph into other creatures such as sharks, birds and jellyfish, these added features add a whole new depth to the game play that makes the game even more attractive. There are many more levels as well making the game a much bigger experience than the original

To sum it up, if you are only going to play one 2D ecco game, this is it, the best there is, well except for the Mega CD/Sega CD version of this game which is even better.

As soon as this game was out in melbourne, i raced for a copy of it, as soon as i played it i was blown away by the graphics and music, Novotrade had made our favorite dolphin perfect!! the games graphics and music is so intence that sega and Novotrade (now Appaloosa) had to place a special chip in the cartridge, this game is very special. The music was what i found the most spectacular, the tunes fit every level perfectly, eg Sea of Darkness, a place filled with vortex kind, the music was eriee, it sent a shive down my spine. The game has so many levels of fun and adventurous gameplay, you wouldn't want to stop! well, thats my 2 cents about this game, have fun ecco lovers, may this sacred cart be with ya!!

Ecco the tides of time. The game that rings a chime. There really is only one word to describe this game...WOW!!!! The game play is so good you'll keep playing non-stop for mounths. (as long as your mom lets you.) Even though I have ecco dof, ecco tot has a better game play. The music is more water-like. It is also so hard, you probibly wont beat it for a long time. Now on to more cool stuff. Even though every thing says ecco uses the time machine at the end, my friend used the secret password...and....the time machine went.....BOOOOOOOOOOOOM. At least, I think he used the secret password. He never told me. Oh by the way, he played non-stop on hard. So you probibly have to enter the secret password and play non-stop on hard.
